I spent my time with Yaiza's family and they are some of the
kindest people in the world and tried to give
me the best insight possible into the Valencian culture.
Yaiza's house is actually a life goal - I guess there was no
better motivation for the exam I had
this week and the one I will have next week!
Tortilla de Patatas
For Sunday lunch we had home-made Paella Valenciana
and I think it will be hard for everyone to have the same experience I had.
A lot of restaurants just mix rice with some vegetables
and rip off tourists. But the original Paella Valenciana
consists of rice, chicken/rabbit, green beans, and
white beans called garrofón.
Ciudad de las artes y las sciencias
The buildings are home to among others a museum, an opera,
and a planetarium. There is also some clubs inside some
of the buildings which are quite expensive,
so being on a guest list definitely pays off!
City Centre
Beaches in Valencia
There are several beaches in Valencia;
the most famous one is Playa de la Marravosa.
The beaches are really crowded and I would recommend
you to go to one of the beaches further out.
Plaza del Mercado
Orxata de Daniel
Av. l'Orxata, 41, 46120 Alboraia
Orxata (or: horchata) and fartones are very typical
for Valencia.The best place to
have them is the Horchatería Daniel.
La Más Bonita
Marítim de la Patacona, 11, 46120 Alboraia
La Más Bonita is perfect for a comida or merienda
with a beach view!
Okay, I know what you think: "another burger!" , but in my defense
I did not have a burger in months and this was ironically my post-detox treat.
Marina Beach Club
Calle Marina Real Juan Carlos I
The Marina Beach Club is right next to the beach and
the perfect place to enjoy a late Sunday afternoon
with friends. The beverages are a bit more
expensive, but there is no entrance fee whatsoever.
Don't know why I look pregnant here, I am not!
Well yeah, of course only juice as always.
And this is not even meant sarcastically.
